HUFA lens cap clip CONTEST from LaRae Lobdell on Vimeo.

Hi Darren,

I just wanted to let you know that I was very impressed with your customer service when I emailed you in December. Not only did you email me the very next day, but I also received a response from Greg Heller within the hour that I sent the email. You guys went above and beyond what I expected, and it made my decision to go with your product - I ordered 3 hufa clips today.

Thanks!

Catherine

Just got my new Hufa holder today in the mail which I won through the Photo Sister contest and snapped it immediately on my new Black Rapid womens camera strap! I know that this will be a great addition to my camera gear and I wont have to go looking through my pockets or purse to figure out where oh where did I put my lens cap.
Thank you so much for inventing this, I know I will be ordering more for my other cameras and will be praising this to others whether novice or professional!

I stumbled upon your product via Photo Sister and it is ingenious!  I must have one to keep track of my lens cap else it will end up in my sons mouth.  I'm currently based in Singapore, do you have any retailers out here yet?  Otherwise, I have a forwarding address in Florida.

I look forward to your response.

Pure Genius!

I can't believe it took so long for someone to create this lens holder!
Perfect for the photojournalist who's always on the move.
You don't have to give it a second thought. Just clip it and forget it!

Much Thanks

Dear Hufa Holder,
I was leaving to go do a shoot this afternoon, and picked up my mail and my holder was there, as soon as I got to my location I put the holder on my camera strap and trekked through the woods. Amazing I tell ya... of course I reached into my pocket a couple of times looking for my lens cover, only to realize where it was, and it made me smile.... thank you so much for bringing us such a wonderful product. I am repeating this to all my friends and clients.
Thank you again

Mark and Danielle Sickles

Greetings!

I was recently given a lens cap holder by an anonymous person at a concert in Portland, OR.  Since then I have used the Hufa extensively in the field.  I was worried at first that the clip was not going to hold my cap strong enough and it would undoubtedly fall out.  Much to my surprise, it has worked fabulously.  I have stopped worrying about it and checking every 5 minutes to make sure it's still there.  I just clip it and forget it! Thanks anonymous person!

Regards,
Brian

I am one of the winners of a Hufa Holder on LaRae Lobdell's Photo Sister website.  I want to thank you for the holder.  It arrived just in time for my trip to Kenya.  It took me a while to remember to use it, but once I got in the habit, it was wonderfully reassuring to always know exactly where my lens cap was.  Thank you very much for your generosity!

I have a bad habit. Other photographers and filmmakers may suffer from a similar problem.  When I’m out on a shoot, I always seem to be searching bags, pouches, pockets, the ground, or pretty much anywhere for my lens cap. I never put it in the same place twice it seems. Luckily I’ve only lost one so far…or are @anthonyquintano and @wynddan keeping it a hostage form the shoot I misplaced it on until I see them again? Either way I now have a Nikon style lens cap that replaced the stock cap on my Canon 18-135mm and I don’t want to lose this one.

So after more time and lens cap searching. I turned on tweetdeck last week and saw @BenjEckstein providing analogies to the all too common “Please RT” term on twitter. The serious conversation which resulted in free broken lens caps and XLR cables between Ben, myself, @VisualEdgeChris ,  and @michaschmidt occurred as follows:

Somewhere in the midst of these amazing giveaways and thought-provoking banter I received this tweet from @HufaHolder:

At first I thought it was someone trying to chime in on our pranks, or a bot that had discovered the phrase “broken lens cap”. But seeing as how I had such bad lens cap woes in the past I decided to check out their site like the tweet instructed. After arriving on their website and watching the video I discovered that the mystery person in the video was Darren Siegel, director of sales at Hufa. I quickly shot an e-mail to the company not really expecting to hear back, but soon afterwards I had an e-mail back from Darren asking for my address so he could send me a free Hufa lens cap clip. It then came several days later in the mail:

After unwrapping, I decided the best place for me was the strap on my backpack, but as shown on their website you can clip them pretty much anywhere including your camera strap or clothing.

The Hufa clip easily attached to my backpack strap and stayed on well as I moved around with it on. The cap also stayed firmly in place throughout various maneuvers making it very useful and able to take anywhere without worry about dropping the cap. I now have a place to put my caps instead of the random pocket or other miscellaneous location. It will be nice to know my lens cap will be where I placed it when I take it off the lens and that I only have to search one place when I’m ready to put it back on. I’m considering ordering an extras for my other bags and maybe on for my camera strap as well so I’m prepared for any style of shooting.

So there you have it…a solution to the lost lens cap blues. All from just another serious twitter conversation. I’m still waiting on my broken XLR cable from Ben but at least I have my Hufa cap to keep me occupied in the meantime.

I was taking photos of a model in a studio when one of the owners of the company walked by and gifted me one of these holders. He told me to send an email after using it for a bit. At first I thought it was an odd product as I have always put my lens caps in my back pocket and never lost or broken a single lens cap after shooting for several years. Where this holder really comes in handy is with shooting weddings. When I shoot weddings my pockets are often cluttered with batteries and memory cards, and the Hufa Holder helps remove that clutter as well as ensure that I don't break a lens cap.
